Benediction
From Pastor Bob Why are we in here? We do have heat in the sanctuary. It’s a bit of a pain to set up for a worship service in here. And really, people don’t sing that well when we’re seated around tables. So tell me again, why are we in the FLC this week? Because I felt like we needed some “face-time” together with each other. We need a family meeting. The wheels aren’t coming off the bus. We have no earthshaking announcement to make. No one is misbehaving to warrant a public rebuke. I want us to talk together and the sanctuary is not very conducive to dialogue and conversation. We just came through a wonderful Advent season. It was forty days of spiritual focus leading through Christmas Sunday and climaxing on Epiphany Sunday when we celebrated baptism and the manifestation of Christ as the Savior of the world! Our souls were touched and our hearts warmed. But it’s also been many weeks since our “Vision Sunday” on September 11. We need a little “air in our tires” and “gas in our tank.” We need some “refreshment.” Today, we’ll take some time to reflect on where we’ve come from, where we are, and where God is leading us. It’s a time to be very honest with one another and share our fears and our hopes. We are gathered in Jesus’ name for the sake of His Kingdom. He has promised his presence. Our worship and the message will be interactive today. If we listen to what God is saying through each other and the Word of God, I am absolutely confident that we will leave this place encouraged with “a new hope for the New Year.” Together, with you, Pastor Bob
Food Pantry: Just a reminder that the food pantry will be held this month on January 28th. Super Bowl: Join us February 5th @ 5:00 PM to watch the Super Bowl game here at the church! Please bring a snack to share.
