Ask yourself: If I succeed at releasing the weight and achieving all my health goals, what would be my biggest fear?
Many times, we take on the fears of others or fear is a defense mechanism due to a reaction to what others have said or done to us. Can you identify the origin of your fear?
Where are you engaging in behaviors and habits that are not serving you just to avoid a fear? Check any of the examples below that resonate with your journey. You have a fear that your family will think you are an awful mom/dad if you only bring healthy food into your home and if you stop buying some of their favorite foods. You have a fear that if you release the weight that you will be seen and therefore attract attention, maybe unwanted attention from men. You fear that you will be taken advantage of or hurt. You have a fear that you won’t be able to do this lifelong. That you will fail and disappoint your Healthy Edge coach, family or co-workers. You have a fear that people around you will think you are weird or that they won’t support you because you are so different from them. You have a fear around exercise and working out. That it will hurt, you will get hurt, or perhaps that people will make fun of you because you are not in the best shape or don’t know how to do certain things.
If you acknowledge that you will most likely feel free when you go outside of your comfort zone to get new results, what does partnering with fear and using it to your advantage look like for you?
