A Look at the GOLDEN KNIGHTS Clarkson is hitting .280 as a team coming into the weekend, which is tied for seventh in the conference, while CU is the lone squad in the league without a homer on the season. Clarkson ranks eighth in slugging percentage, and last in on-base percentage at .338. CU has a team ERA of 6.50 over 13 games, and is allowing hitters to bat at a .329 average. The Golden Knights can pick it defensively though, ranking third in fielding with a .964 percentage, making the league’s fewest errors so far at 16. Anthony Padrazo is sixth in the conference in hitting with a .400 average, while Chris Miller is ninth as well with a .380 mark in 14 starts. Greg Jasek, who was a star pitcher last year but hasn’t tossed this year due to arm issues, is still swinging the stick well as he has posted a teamhigh 10 RBI and a .367 batting average. Brad Pearson is the only other player above .300 for the Golden Knights, while Dom Pirro and Will Coleman have each started all 14 games as well for CU.

Vassar College comes into the weekend winners in four of its last five contests, rallying late to earn the series win over Skidmore in game two Sunday. In that final contest of the day last Saturday, VC posted one run in the ninth to tie the game at five, and then won it in the 11th on a walk-off sacrifice bunt that also resulted in an error that allowed the winning run to score. The Brewers currently rank fourth in the conference in hitting with a .286 batting average, while sitting in third in the Liberty League in RBI with 86. Nick Johnson still leads all Brewer batters in average with a .409 mark, starting all 18 contests this year while leading the league with 27 hits. His seven doubles are secondmost in the Liberty, and his total bases of 37 also rank second. Cory Wuenschell is hitting .333 on the season as well, while freshman Matt Schwartz has posted a .333 batting average over his 21 at-bats.

Vassar vs. CLARKSON
Brewer Bio on . . . CORY WUENSCHELL Cory Wuenschell, a senior catcher from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been one of Vassar’s most consistent hitters and run producers over the last three seasons. Wuenschell is one of Vassar’s strongest right-handed bats, as he has shown the ability to drive the ball from gap-togap during his career. Wuenschell also has been big at big times this season, as his six two-out RBI are second-most on the team. Wuenschell comes into the afternoon today hitting .287 for his career, connecting on 21 doubles, three triples and two homers. As a sophomore, Wuenschell was named as a All-Liberty League honoree, after posting 27 RBI for the season. The senior backstop has driven in 54 runs for his career, and so far this season Wuenschell is second on the team in hitting with a .333 mark, posting 19 hits and seven two-baggers.
