He wants us to make Him the highest priority in our lives. When asked which commandment should be first, He answered “...you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30. But how are we supposed to make God the highest priority when we have family, work, friends, clubs, meetings, travel, fitness, exercise, chores, repairs, and quilting. At times, it seams we are pulled in every direction possible. In order to get everything done, and to do it well, we have to prioritize. That’s exactly what God is asking us to do. It means that, sometimes, we place a higher priority on other aspects of our lives, forcing God into the back seat. Everyone has a god. For some, it is our God of the Bible. For others, for others, it is something or someone they live for or a passionate pursuit that drives them. How can we make sure that God always has the highest priority in our lives? Simple, every day, in every way, we should invite Him in.
