Get Their Attention! (5 minutes) Materials: Zingo Monster Puppet
WELCOME kids to our FearBusters Lab. EXPLAIN that in our lab, we are FearBusters who work hard to say “bye, bye, bye” to all the things that scare us and our monster friends. INTRODUCE & PASS Zingo Monster Puppet by saying: Meet our friend, Zingo Monster! (Hold Up Puppet)
Need to Know: When I’m Scared, (make scared face) God (point up) Helps Me! (extend hands, palms up)
Bible Story: God Helps Gideon Judges 6:1-7:21
Materials: Zingo Monster Puppet God Helps Me Sheet Star Stickers
Everyone give a ROARsome “Hello” to Zingo! (Everyone waves & says “Hello”.) When Zingo Monster comes to you, in your best monster voice, tell him your name. (Kids will PASS puppet & introduce themselves to him.) AFTER all kids have been introduced, SAY & DO the following: Have you ever been scared of something? (Allow responses.) We all get scared sometimes. Even our monster friend, Zingo, gets scared sometimes! Today, let’s teach Zingo how we can BUST our fears! So say this with me: When I’m Scared (make scared face), God (point up) Helps Me! (extend hands, palms up)
___________________________________________________________ Application Activity (7 min) Materials: God Helps Me Sheets, Star Stickers, Monster Pictures
1. GIVE each child one God Helps Me Sheet and place Star Stickers in middle of group.

2. SHOW & READ each Monster Picture aloud and have group place correct color Star Sticker on each monster’s star outline.

3. After kids have placed the Star Stickers on their Sheet, SAY the following:

Application Activity Summary: We will give our monster friends stickers as we hear how God helps them when they are scared!
God helped BUST our monsters’ fears & He wants to HELP you, too! You can be a FearBuster by praying to ask God for HELP when you are scared! Our monster friends can help us remember (have kids repeat after you): When I’m Scared (make scared face), God (point up) Helps Me! (extend hands, palms up)

Remember Verse (3 min) Materials: Monster Pictures
1. Have kids REPEAT the Remember Verse (on left) after you, with motions.
To the Lord, (point up)
2. EXPLAIN that this verse tells us that when we are scared, we can pray to God. God promises to hear us and help our fears go “bye, bye, bye”.
And He answered me. (cup hand to ear)
3. SHOW each of the four Monster Pictures, and SAY the verse together, pretending to be the monster shown on the Monster Picture. (Ex—Girls can say verse to MiMi and boys can say verse to MoMo.)
He freed me (wave arms & smile)
4. Continue to review/play as time allows. REMIND kids that if they can say the verse by themselves next week, they will win a ROARSOME prize!

PRAY with your group, having them repeat the following after you in short phrases.
Getting to Know You: Use these questions to get to know your group as they eat & color: What is something that you want to do all by yourself but you still need help with? What do you do when you feel scared to ask for help? Who can ask for help when you are scared? (God!) Was Zingo Monster scared to get in trouble if he asked for help today? (Yes) Did Agent True tell Zingo that asking for help is the right thing to do? (Yes)
Dear God, thank you for helping me when I am scared! Thank you for my snack. I love you! In Jesus’ name I pray, amen! SANITIZE hands with hand sanitizer & PASS OUT snacks. Have kids color their God Helps Me Sheets. USE Filler Guide to keep kids engaged for remainder of small group.
