Dear Parents and Carers A big thank you to Mrs B and the children who sang beautifully at the picnic for the Queens 90th birthday last weekend and also thank you to The Green Team, Mrs Downie and Mr T for helping to clear up during and after the event.
Chantry visit Last week Miss Enzor and I took our Year 4 children to Chantry to work in the IT suite, have lunch and then play out with the older children. They all came back smiling, saying what a good time they’d had. It was lovely to see our exchildren, they were so pleased to see us all. One even came and had lunch with us —that was a lovely gesture, which made the children feel even more welcome!
Swimming A reminder that swimming for Year 3 and 4 children starts again tomorrow.
Book fair week 13 June Year 4’s mini-Olympics at Chantry 14 June
PTA and the summer fair
Summer fair 18 June
In preparation for the summer Fair in June, we will be holding nonuniform days each Friday in May in aid of donations for the summer fair:
Yr 3 & 4 to Brinkburn Priory 21 June Sports Day 23 June
Friday 6th May—soft toys and action figures Friday 13th May—bottles Friday 20th May—tombola Friday 27th May—jam jars—filled with goodies!
Teacher training day 24 June Climbing 28 June Transfer day 30 June
Early Years request for donations We would really appreciate any toy vehicles and a car mat to be used by all the children in school at playtimes.
Please remember to regularly check your emails and your child’s book-bag for any correspondence from school.

Page 2 Rowan class—PE lesson

The children in Rowan class (Mrs Davis) had PE this week. We have sent home their PE kit for you to check that the children have sandshoes that are the correct fit.
Reports issued 15 July A chance to have a look at your child’s book and have an ice-cream 1.30-4pm 18 July Year 4 take-over day 19 July Leavers assembly 2pm 20 July Last day of term 20 July
Stannington Youth Club and Kids Club The Youth Club will now be held weekly on a Saturday evening from 67.30pm—children in Year 3 to teens. There will also be a Kids Club available for children aged 3-7 years, from 5-6pm. This will start on Saturday 7th May. Both will be held in the Community Room. Green Team news Thank you for your donations of bottle tops so far, keep them coming! If you have any other coloured tops apart from green, that would be great.
