Stannington First School Thursday Times Diary dates : April 25&26, 3.30-6pm— Parents evening for nursery and Year 1-4 children April 27—Class photos May 10-12—Yr 4’s at Dukeshouse Wood May 19—Recep & Yr 1 Northern Stage visit June 9—Sports Day June 15—Reserve Sports Day June 20&22—Fathers Day lunches July 6—Transfer Day
Dear Parents and Carers Another term has come to an end—the year is flying by! I hope that you all have a happy and safe Easter at home or away. School re-opens on Monday 24th April at 8.50am and I look forward to hearing all the holiday news from the children.
Easter Service There appears to be a little confusion surrounding an Easter Service. Originally we planned to have an Easter Service, but notified parents in the newsletter dated 19th January that we had decided this year to hold Mothers Day and Fathers Day services in Church instead.
Easter Picture Competition All the children painted or drew wonderful pictures showing what they thought of when hearing the word “Easter”. The pictures were judged over at the Church and our winners were: Nursery—Joseph Reception—Jude F Year 1—Elizabeth Year 2—Lily Year 3—Annabelle Year 4—Phoebe
July 19, 3.30-6pm — Parents book look July 21, 2pm—Leavers Assembly (Year 4)
PTA request At this year’s Summer Fair (date yet to be decided), the PTA are planning a “children’s clothes exchange” stall. If you have any clean clothing for re-selling, please hand it in to the office.
Parents evening—25th & 26th April—Reminder The next round of parents evening appointments will be held on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th April. These appointments are for nursery children and children in Years 1-4 only. You should have received an electronic reminder to book your appointment. If you are experiencing any problems using this system, please contact Mrs Harker.

Stannington First School Page 2 Climbing wall Work started this week on our new climbing wall. A big thank -you to the PTA who have contributed to the cost of it. It will be ready for use after the holidays.
PTA meeting Keyboard lessons
The next PTA meeting will be held on Wednesday 26th April at the Ridley Arms, 7pm—all welcome.
There will be no keyboard lessons on 10th May.
Community News Treetots Toddler Group Fridays 1.30pm—Early Years building
Stannington Kids/Youth Club Easter egg hunt and games—15th April at Stannington First School from 4pm.
