Longreach Market Report 18th April 2012 A quality yarding of 3400 head met a tough fat market but a strong store sale. Limited numbers of Heavy Bullocks over 600Kg were penned, these topped at 158c/kg. A very classy run of Droughtmaster Feeder Steers over 500Kg topped at 181c/kg. Quality Charbray Steers 380Kg sold to $2, with 335kg Santa/Hereford Cross Steers to 205c/kg. A quality run of Angus Heifers over 500Kg PTIC to Angus Bulls sold to 148c/kg; returning to a restocker in Blackall. The top of the Heavy Cows had isolated sales in the 140c/kg. Cows 400-520Kg had an average of 128c/kg. Crossbred Feeder Heifers sell strongly; Brahmans not so good. Flat back Heifers sold to 189c/kg; and Brahman Heifers to 155c/kg. A good line of Brahman Heifers 200-300Kg topped at 194c/kg.
