Longreach Market Report 1st August 2012 A reduced yarding of 3200 head met a softer market in Longreach this week. The bullocks over 600Kg topped at 172c/kg with the trade type bullocks selling to 186c/kg. A big percentage of the heavy cattle yarded were cows & fat heifers, with the top of the heavy cow market holding firm; cows over 520Kg making 147c/kg & cows 400-520Kg making it into the high 140's. Feeder heifers sold to a top of 175c/kg while Store steers sold to 194c/kg & store heifers making 188c/kg. Brahman Cows & Calves this week sold to $817.50.
