Longreach Market Report 22nd August 2012 Another solid yarding of Fat Cattle in Longreach this week, with cows dominating the numbers. A total of 3650 head met a very solid sale. Bullocks remained firm with cows gaining 1-3c/kg. The bullocks topped at 172c/kg for good young Santa/Shorthorn bullocks from Winton. A very good yarding of well finished cows held a strong pace through the day. Cows over 520Kg rang the bell at 142c/kg, Cows over 520Kg averaged 132c/kg. Classy fat heifers sold to 166c/kg. A softer market was evident in the stores, as winter still takes its affect on feed. Quality Santa steers sold to 209c/kg.
