Mike Caron Mike is the Chairman of Berlin Industrial Development & Park Authority (BIDPA). He spoke on the history of BIDPA In the early 70s Brown Company deeded the current park plan to the City. A committee was formed. They have been involved with numerous project which includes downtown and route 110 and the park.

They are on the City website. And a listing of board members along with their mission to the city. Mike passed out a map of the Park and explained the breakdowns of the map. He mentioned that several of the parcels they had have been sold, new business are coming in which will create jobs in the area. BIDPA has nothing in the Industrial Park all is sold. On Main Street they inherited the Rite Aid Building and sold it to a developer what is now Family Dollar. They currently inherited the old Woolworth building by tax deed. Its been a challenge for them and are trying to sell it. Mike answered questions from the membership present. Thank you Mike for being our guest. Jerry Dumoulin mentioned how dedicated and work that Mike has put into BIDPA.

With finally getting into some warm weather, members gathered at the Northland Dairy Bar for our weekly meeting. This week President Elect Roland O. took command of the meeting as President Janet is getting some well deserve sunshine in the sunshine state. Bethany P. opened the meeting with the Pledge and Francie V. led us all in song, followed by words from Bob L. Fine collector for the evening is Janice D. P-E Roland O. opened the meeting with introduction of guest. This week we had

District Convention:

Glenn T. reported on the Key Club and mentioned that nine students went to DCON. He does not have a report as they were at their convention. He will attend this week’s meeting and try to have student come to our meeting and report on their convention. There was no report on the K-Kids at this time. We will be doing the Hutchins Street Park area on SATURDAY MAY 2ND please mark this date on your I Pad. Many hands are needed. Tim B. reminded the membership of the bike rodeo on May 16. Need as many members he can get. Place this date on your I-Pad also

Susan G. gave an update on the Read around the World. She needs members to go to Gorham High School. Contact Susan G. if you are able to attend. Priscilla C. will go to the Bible Academy Priscilla C. and Roland O. went to the Milan School for the Read Around The World Program and had a great time with the kids.
OTHER HAPPENINGS:
Happy dollars for the evening were from Bethany P., Tim B., Glenn T., Bob L., Janice D., Roland O., Fines are always in order and Paul F. fined Bob L. for disrespect to the head table, by requesting his food order first. Passed. Roland O. mentioned that he went to the Marvelous Marvin show in Gorham he mentioned that the place was packed. He was recognized as a member of Berlin Kiwanis. It was an excellent show. Susan G. spoke on a request from a student to attend Mindflight. Sue will check with the guidance Counselor in Berlin to see if there are other student interest in attending.
SECRETARY RAMBLINGS: Jaimie P. is collecting box tops for education. Members are asked to save them for Jaimie.
