match notes
Opening Kick Gettysburg takes a break from its Centennial Conference schedule as it hosts the ninth-ranked and undefeated College of New Jersey Lions in a non-league match-up this evening. The Series TCNJ holds a 15-1-1 advantage over the Bullets in the all-time series that dates back to 1990. Last Meeting In the season opener for both teams last season, Eliza Gray '16 made six saves for Gettysburg while Jessica Weeder stopped one shot for TCNJ as the Bullets and Lions battled to a scoreless draw in Trenton. TCNJ, ranked ninth at the time, outshot Gettysburg 13-4, including 7-0 in the second half. But that's when Gray made four of her stops, and she also turned aside one shot in each of the two OT periods en route to breaking the school record for career shutouts (27). Last Time Out The Bullets held Haverford to just nine shots including only two on goal - but the host Fords managed to put one in the net for a 1-0 Centennial Conference victory this past Saturday. Haverford took three shots in the game's opening eight minutes, and sophomore goalie Kiera Loftus made an early save for the Bullets. After the Fords scored the game-winner in the ninth minute, Gettysburg did not allow a shot on goal the rest of the way. Bullets Blank Frostburg Last Wednesday, Gettysburg earned a 2-0 nonconference victory at Frostburg State on first-half

goals from sophomores Samantha Esposito and Alexa Bushey. Classmate Kiera Loftus made five of her six saves in the first half en route to her fourth shutout of the season. Stingy Defense The Bullets have allowed more than one goal just once all season, and have yet to yield more than two goals in a match. The Orange and Blue have also registered five shutouts and a 0.55 goals-against average for the season. 300 Wins With their 2-0 victory over Washington College on Sept. 24, the Bullets became just the second women's soccer program in the Centennial Conference to reach 300 wins, joining Johns Hopkins. The Gettysburg women's soccer team's inaugural season was 1988, and the Bullets have won at least 10 matches in 18 of 24 years since 1992. The program has captured five Centennial Conference titles and earned seven NCAA tournament appearances. Scouting TCNJ The Lions come into tonight's match riding a seven-match winning streak following their 3-0 victory at Rutgers-Newark this past Saturday. TCNJ has shut out its last six opponents and have outscored the opposition 38-3 for the season. Senior Christine Levering leads the Lions offensively with seven goals and four assists for the year. Between the pipes, senior Jessica Weeder has been the goalie of record in every match, posting a 0.35 goals-against average.
