Senior Brett Zaziski comes into the weekend fourth in the nation in slugging percentage, ranking ninth in the country in runs per game with 1.55 a game. Zaziski is also 14th in batting average, and 11th in on-base percentage. Sophomore outfielder Nick Johnson leads the country in doubles per game with 0.82 a game, and is batting .420 on the season. Kyle Casey has a career-high eight-game hitting streak coming into this weekend, and sophomore Brooks English has reached safely in all 12 games this year. The Brewer pitching staff right now has two freshmen at the top of the earned run listing, as Trent Berg and Adam Erkis headline the column. Berg is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA, striking out seven in two starts, while Erkis has a 2.96 ERA with a 3-0 record. Erkis has tossed a team-high 24.1 innings this season, and has one complete game to his ledger. Senior Joe Lovizio has fanned a team-best 17 hitters this season.
A Look at the No. 4 Red Dragons The offense for Cortland State is very spread out, as the depth of the offense is apparent when looking at the statistics. The Red Dragons have just one player on the roster that has started every game this year, as Max Rosing comes in hitting .321, which ranks him 10th among players qualifying. Bryan Marotta leads the Dragons in hitting, as he is batting .533 in 17 games of action, while Donny Castaldo is batting .393 with six RBI. Anthony Iocomini has a team-best 28 RBI, playing in all 24 games, and Mark DeMillo and P.J. Rinaldi each are batting over .350. The pitching for the Red Dragons has been stellar this year, as their top two starters are a combined 11-2 record, with both sporting ERAs under 2.00. Brandon McClain has a 1.41 ERA with a 6-0 W-L mark, while Brandon Serio has started eight times and is sporting a 1.81 clip. Both are holding batters under the Mendoza line of .200.
DIVISION III WEEK FACTS AND FIGURES The college experience is a time of learning and growth — a chance to follow passions and develop potential. For student-athletes in Division III, all of this happens most importantly in the classroom and through earning an academic degree. The Division III experience provides for passionate participation in a competitive athletic environment, in which student-athletes push themselves to excellence and build upon their academic success with new challenges and life skills. D-III Facts and Figures - 80 percent of active Division III institutions are private, and 20 percent are public. - Division III is the NCAA’s largest division with over 40 percent of total membership. - Average enrollment at a Division III institution is 2,620. Vassar is 2,406. - Division III had 233 member schools and 10 sponsored championships on 8/6/1973. - Division III has 448 members today and sponsors 36 NCAA championships today.
Brewer Bio on . . . Kyle Casey Casey, a utility man from San Diego, California, is what every coach wants. Casey comes to the field every day ready to play, regardless of where his name appears on the lineup. Casey has provided the team with a utility man that is capable of providing days off to some players, and has now nabbed an everyday spot in the lineup thanks to his solid bat. Casey has great bat control and drives the ball to all fields, while also being able hit behind runners and put down a great bunt. This season, Casey has been the glue for the Brewers squad, as he has started all 12 games, getting the starting nod at third base, second base and left field, also playing first base as well. Casey is hitting .314 for the season, and is enjoying an eight-game hit streak, which is the current high for Vassar. More importantly, Casey has made all 34 plays that have come his way this season in the field, and has committed just three errors in three years as a Brewer.

Brewer Bio on . . . Kyle Casey Casey, a utility man from San Diego, California, is what every coach wants. Casey comes to the field every day ready to play, regardless of where his name appears on the lineup. Casey has provided the team with a utility man that is capable of providing days off to some players, and has now nabbed an everyday spot in the lineup thanks to his solid bat. Casey has great bat control and drives the ball to all fields, while also being able hit behind runners and put down a great bunt. This season, Casey has been the glue for the Brewers squad, as he has started all 12 games, getting the starting nod at third base, second base and left field, also playing first base as well. Casey is hitting .314 for the season, and is enjoying an eight-game hit streak, which is the current high for Vassar. More importantly, Casey has made all 34 plays that have come his way this season in the field, and has committed just three errors in three years as a Brewer.
