Easter Sunday Thank you for picking up the monthly HOF Bulletin! This month’s feature is some thoughts on Easter. We place a lot of emphasis on the Crucifixion of Jesus. In many ways this is the center of everything we do. Most of our songs deal with His death. The Lord’s Supper revolves around His suffering. Most of what we teach and preach goes back to the Cross. But is that really how it should be? Should we, as Christians, be focused more on His death or the fact that He is alive? The New Testament makes it abundantly clear in 1 Corinthians

15 that the Resurrection of Jesus is what our faith hinges on. Everything depends on it. I’m not saying that the Cross is unimportant. Not at all! What I am saying is that we should expand our thinking. The Cross and the Resurrection go together. They can’t exist without the each other. It is our job as Christians to witness to

the entire truth, not just part of it. Too often I think we focus solely on the Cross. We must remember that Jesus rose again and is alive today. Hallelujah! Easter Sunday should not be the only day we celebrate the Resurrection. That should happen every moment of our lives. By Ryan Martin

Children’s Church Brunch On April 9 from 9 am unitl noon there will be a meeting here at the building to discuss Children’s Church. Anyone who is interested in Children’s Church or getting our young kids involved should attend. We will be discussing sever-

al things, such as whether or not to have Children’s Church, the age groups involved, volunteers, what should be taught, and so on. Children’s Church is a labor intensive thing and we need to make sure that we

are prepared and able to do it if that is what we need. I appreciate the support this church has for its youth. It is a blessing and shows the heart of Christ. By Ryan Martin

Youth Spotlight Jonathan Foster This section of the bulletin will put a different teen in the spotlight each month so the congregation will get to know them a little better.

This month’s youth spotlight goes to Jonathan Foster. Jonathan Foster is an Eagle Scout, one of the highest ranks in Boy Scouts. This shows the dedication, honor, and perseverance that he has. Jonathan is mature for his age and is a very hard worker. More importantly Jonathan has a hunger for God. He is always asking questions and digging deeper into God’s Word. He seeks out Jesus at every opportunity. He is always wanting to know God more, and that is incredible. I see Jesus in Jonathan Foster.

The Month of March The month of March has been a busy one. Here are some of the highlights from this past month. March 6: Fondulac Rehabilitation Center—The first Sunday this month the youth group went and colored, played games with, and painted the nails of the residents at Fondulac in East Peoria. Thanks to Rachel Gardner for organizing that. March 13: Nate and Rachel Gardner hosted an ice cream social at the building with games and other exciting events. March 18-19: VBS Work Days—A big thank you to all who helped build the props used for VBS! Northwest had a strong showing and contributed to building in a major way. March 20: Family Easter Celebration—This past Sunday the young families had an Easter celebration lunch and Easter egg hunt. Thank you to Barb Juers for organizing this. March 25-26: LTC—Five of our kids went to Indianapolis for LTC this past weekend. They all did a great job! Ryan Martin All pictures are taken from Facebook.
