Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: Mar. 20th 2017 Attendees:

President – Mike Mancini  Opening Day: snowstorm puts us back to original schedule of 4/24. No early start date, unless next few weeks turn things around. Working on multiple options for schedules. Festivities remain on track for 4/28.  Work detail: Sat 3/25 is a very important work detail – mandatory with at least 1 representative from each team. No equipment handout if team not represented.  Teams: players have been placed on the teams, and rosters will be handed out in tonight’s meeting. Families must be contacted by the Managers ASAP this week.  Baseball Division Coordinators: Mark Leonard for Majors Black; Johnny Davis for Majors Red; Jason Barton for Minors Red; Craig Abramson for Farms Red; Jay Biens for Farms Gold  Softball Division Coordinators: Tom Zaycek for Farms; Mike Lambert for Rookies; Tom Cefola for Minors; Mike Caputo for Majors  Babe Ruth: draft will take place next week after school cuts have been made  Dicks Sporting Goods: successful turnout. Awaiting $$ information  Golf Outing & Somerset Patriots: hard copies will be distributed to the Managers for forwarding to the parents. We need to maximize participation in both events, so that enhancements can continue for the players.  Meeting representation: at least 1 representative from each team at the monthly meetings moving forward.  Somerset Patriots: Sat June 17th  Rec Coaches/Managers: Coaches previously certified are covered. New coaches MUST be certified. Vice President of Softball – Rich Smith  Beefsteak – successful and fun time for Travel Softball programs.  need 1 more Manager for Farms Softball  meeting w/ Long Valley, Roxbury, Chester to coordinate games between them and MO Rec Softball. Vice President of Babe Ruth – Pete DiMaggio  need 2 Managers for Minors Gold & Farms Gold  practice schedule w/ a start date of 1st week of April. All practices MUST be coordinated through Pete DiMaggio or Rich Smith – and only conducted on a Township field. Complete Player has the option of $120/hour for teams that need to get in indoor practices. Will advise on date/time availability.  Next Association meeting will involve discussion of important rules. Secretary – Snehal Desai  need to get the Coaches certified, since MO Township requires everything to be in place prior to start of season. Treasurer – Nate Richardson  not present

Player Agent – Bill Asbury  Rosters handed out tonight, and electronic version will be sent out tomorrow. Master file will be created in the next few weeks to identify the bump-ups list.  Coaches need to be recruited as the more parents being involved, it is better for the kids. Equipment Director – Tom Youtz  Not present  Equipment & key handout – Sat 3/25 @ 3:00 pm Head Groundskeeper – Sam Hollien  Sat 3/25 @ 11am – Drakesbrook Park Publicity Director – Eugene Galdi  not present Activities Directors – Bill Lockwood / Scott Crance  Golf Outing Fri June 9th @ Flanders Valley Golf Course. Info on the website already. Will have more info on the newsletter later this week. This year will also include option of just dinner after the golf outing.  Somerset Patriots Night – Sat 6/17 @ 7 pm. Encourage parents to participate in this fun event. Fundraising Director – Scott Eagleson  All teams covered for sponsorship. However, banners still welcome. Concessions Director – Christine Youtz  Not present Webmaster – Sal Matteis  Not present  New site is functional, but still working out the kinks. Hope to have it ready by Opening Day Umpire in Chief – Tom Cefola  not present  Umpires Clinic on Sun 3/26 from 1 pm – 5 pm.
