Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: June 2nd, 2015 Attendees:
President – Pete DiMaggio Turkey Brook fields: Drainage projected completed on al 4 fields. Seems to be working well. Fence on TB2 has been moved back to mimic a 50/70 field. Backstops on TB1 & TB2 have been fixed. Winning bid for the lights awarded to Quality Construction. Approx. $175K – awaiting contract to be signed – by mid-June. Russ Nagle: purchased shed to shelter the new equipment on that field. Budd Lake Field: xx Baseball Mania: need to continue to maximize sales by marketing the prizes to the parents. Can still sell more tickets if needed through 6/15. Winners to be determined by 6/15. Background checks: Town is preparing an ordinance and will take over in Janurary 2016. Fingerprints and NJSP BRO program required with MOPD securing the documents Somerset Patriots Night 6/19: 780 tickets to-date with some teams having negligible/zero participation. More tickets will be ordered to accommodate anyone else that needs tickets at the last minute. Golf Outing: good turnout with a lot of fun. Memorial Day Tournament: 70+ teams. Every MO team made it to Semifinals. 8U won their Division. Playoffs & AllStars: to be concluded by next week 9U Districts; starts on 6/19 @ Budd Lake 7/23: 8U regional tournament @ TB Vice President of Baseball – Eric Scott Majors Black Home Run Derby: 6/5 @ 5:45 Majors Red playoffs: starts on 6/4 Minors Red playoffs: starts on 6/4 Vice President of Softball – Paul Segnello Rec league – will be done next week with Allstars & Playoffs concluding Managers & Coaches – appreciate the effort made by them throughout the season. Softball regionals: 7/15 – 7/19. Lot of teams travelling in. Need help with announcers/ scorekeepers & field maintenance Summer: 2nd 8U & 10U team to be created for practices and scrimmages in order to get more girls interested in travel softball. Vice President of Babe Ruth – Mike Mancini Babe Ruth level: ends next Sat. Memorial Day Tournament: everyone’s efforts very much appreciated Regionals: coming up in July and will need support similar to the Memorial Day tournament.
Secretary – Snehal Desai need to promote the tournaments that we have in MO for the parents/kids to be involved more. Email blast to all of MOBSA would generate interest.

Treasurer – Nate Richardson Cleared almost $8K on the Golf outing – largest fundraiser for MOBSA Somerset Patriots – 2nd largest fundraiser for MOBSA. Both fundraisers help us keep the registration fees low. We are geared to break even every year when expenses are put towards necessities and maintenance. Baseball Mania is geared to specifically the need for lighting – not for any other purpose. Player Agent – Rick DeLisi nothing Equipment Director – James Gallagher need to set up an Equipment/Rake keys hand in date. 6/27/15 Head Groundskeeper – Matt Callahan Everyone’s efforts appreciated in maintaining the fields Publicity Director – Guy Marro Still need the write-ups from both teams. Not much time needed to get this done. Baseball Mania – will send out another email with instructions on tracking their game cards once they are activated. Need to publicize winners. Other options such as candy sales need to be considered with an opt-out fee. Activities Directors – Bill Lockwood / Steve Schmidt Golf Outing was a great success with outstanding donations. Lowest prize was $100.
Fundraising Director – Pat Pompeo not present Concessions Director – Rob Tester made approx. $1300 on the Memorial Day Tournament. Still have Managers that did not participate. May need to setup an online form for 2016. Revamp is necessary.
