Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: Sept. 8th, 2015 Attendees:
President – Pete DiMaggio Resignation of Matt Callahan as Heads Groundskeeper – position being taken over by Sam Hollien – with continued assistance from Matt. Resignation of Eric Scott as Vice President of Baseball– position being taken over by Mike Mancini Turkey Brook fields: Lights operational at TB#2. Yearly operational costs tbd Budd Lake Field: anticipating building to be sold by end of 2015 as mentioned by Larrie Reynolds. Status quo until then, with caution on money being put into it by MOBSA Rec Program: In 2016, we will open up Rec program to 4 year olds in both Baseball & Softball. Number of signups will determine amount of divisions. Hackettstown is interested in joining MOBSA Baseball Rec program up to the Babe Ruth level. Some travel between teams may be required to Hackettstown, but the benefit is huge overall Concessions Stands: All 3 Concessions Stands will be pooled together- managed by the Travel teams with revenues being split 70/30 between Travel/Rec program. This is critical towards the fulfillment of TB light bonds, and other enhancements for the MOBSA program. Fundraising: Committee of 8 people was formed to help with the Fundraising activities, including Golf Outing, Opening Day activities, etc. Travel teams; 3 NJ State Champs; 12U Regional Champs; 12U Runner up in the World Series. – Softball. 3 District 7 Champs; 1 State Champ - Baseball 5th Annual Tom Shields Outing: 9/22 @ Minebrook Golf Club, Hackettstown. More info on website with email blast to follow. Calendar discussed – all events and activities posted on MOBSA website calendar. Vice President of Softball – Paul Segnello Great success by the Travel Teams in 2015. The 12U World Series Runnerup title was a great achievement. Fall Ball: Travel teams already in place, and moving along. Need to start recruiting more kids to fill up the Rec program. Vice President of Babe Ruth – Mike Mancini need to get the Player ratings in, and will work on it shortly The success of all our Travel teams puts Mount Olive on the map, allowing us to host 2 Regionals this year.
