Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: April 11, 2017 Attendees:

President – Mike Mancini  Registrations: still coming in despite the closure, but we are gladly accepting them, and reconfiguring the rosters when needed. Uniforms for Farms & Rookies are affected mostly by this and the Uniform orders are on hold until we add the newer players to the rosters.  Umpires: need to ensure that proper respect is used towards the Umpires, and ZERO tolerance in place for any incident. Payment to umpires should be the responsibility of the Home Team along w/ 2 balls. Umpires MUST be informed about any cancellations, since they will be paid if they show up to the field.  Parade: starting @ 6 pm sharp on 4/28. Teams need to meet by 5:45 pm. Managers need to be responsible to ensure that their teams stay together starting from the Lacrosse field. Signs will be on the field to put players/teams to be in their respective spots. Coordinators will line up according to the team number and division.  Field prep: MUST be done to the fullest prior to every game. Lines, bases should be painted, and fields raked. Fields MUST be raked after each game, even with the help of parents.  Fundraisers: need everyone’s full support to upgrade fields. Packets for parents will be handed out to the Managers, and they must be pushed for participation and involvement.  Picture forms: MUST be taken by the team with full participation, so that the team photo can be forwarded to the Sponsors.  Game reporting: MUST summarize the game results, mentioning the Sponsors. Every player must be mentioned at least once in the season  Coaches shirts: MUST be worn at all times during games. No lanyard system to be used this year.  Practice schedules: no longer in effect once games start, but VPs can be contacted to determine field availability if any teams want to hold practices.  Parent packets Somerset Patriots/ Dicks coupons/ Rita’s card/ Golf Outing/ Baseball Mania/ scorebooks handed out today.  Field lights: TB & Russ Nagle lights must be turned off by a certain time. Only selected few personnel have the ability to turn them off. Send text to Mike/Pete/Sam to turn lights off if games are completed earlier. Vice President of Softball – Rich Smith  Majors and Minors Softball will be playing w/ multiple neighboring towns.  Fields: please make sure the fields are lined before the games. Vice President of Babe Ruth – Pete DiMaggio  Game schedules: will be setup by next week. Conflicts for games may be discussed, but revision options may be limited.  Cancellations: Pete/Rich/Sam Hollien (weather) will need to be involved for any cancellations or game revisions.

Umpires for Majors: Mike Borozan will have contact info for Managers, and umpires will contact at least 24 hours prior to game time. If no contact, Mike Borozan should be contacted. Bases: After the last game of the day, bases and equipment should be secured. Basball Rules: discussed specific rules in the meeting. Rules are available online for review, and should be printed and kept by Manager of each team during games.

Secretary – Snehal Desai  Certification MUST be confirmed before coaching can start per Township requirements. Treasurer – Nate Richardson  Fundraisers: Umpire envelopes will be handed out to Managers for their HOME games, and should be secured but available for the games to be handed out to Umpires. Player Agent – Bill Asbury  439 total registrations: 327 Baseball & 132 Softball  Rosters are finalized, but subject to change as new late registrations come in.  Bumpups: manual process, and the entire list would have to get through, before it restarts again. Contact Bill Asbury 908-246-0158 with name/division/number of players needed. If no response in 15 min, text Pete or Rich. Equipment Director – Tom Youtz  Equipment bags were already handed out to the teams. Head Groundskeeper – Sam Hollien  Please do not spray paint bases in the grass – only in the dirt. Items needed in the boxes should involve contacting Sam so they can be replenished.  Scoreboards MUST be used. Controllers at DJ, TB & BL are in their respective Concessions stands. A smartphone APP is also available. After the game, the controllers should be setup to charge so that they can be available for the next game.  AED: equipment is available in the DJ/ TB/BL Concessions stand, storage area at Russ Nagle. Publicity Director – Eugene Galdi  Send in the game writeups Activities Directors – Bill Lockwood / Scott Crance  Golf Outing Fri June 9th @ Flanders Valley Golf Course. Need baskets or giveaways as prizes. Does not necessarily have to be a Golfer, one can join for Dinner.  Somerset Patriots Night – Sat 6/17 @ 7 pm. Encourage parents to participate in this fun event. Fundraising Director – Scott Eagleson  Baseball Mania tickets will be handed out today. Each non-optout will need to sell the 4 tickets, and would forfeit the work bond if they don’t comply. Top sellers will be awarded prizes similar to last year.  Sponsorships already setup.

Concessions Director – Christine Youtz  4/25 @ 6pm – another Food Handler course, which will need to involve Rec parents too  Concessions schedule will be created once the game schedules are setup. Webmaster – Sal Matteis  Schedules will be uploaded and Managers will be contacted with login info once schedules are set.  New website still a work in progress. Umpire in Chief – Tom Cefola  not present  another Umpires Clinic to be setup shortly Family Bond Coordinator – Tammy Demm  Work bond credit was issued to the people that showed up to the Work Details. There will be many opportunities throughout the season for everyone to fulfill their Work Bond if they have not done so yet.
