Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: June 9th 2016 Attendees:
President – Pete DiMaggio Budd Lake field: sale fell through. Reviewing possibility of MOBSA purchasing the field. Still ours to use through Fall season. Board Member Nominations: nominations and voting held Concessions Stand: close to $1500 received by Association. Golf Outing: close to $10K for the Association. Big effort from Steve Schmidt at new venue. Photographers: 20% rebate on all Sales received. $1800+ received by Association. Memorial Day Tournament: xx Baseball Mania: deadline to get ALL of the tickets in is June 11th. Any player that chooses to not sell the minimum of 3 tickets only has the option of an opt-out fee of $40. Suggestion to offset against the Family Bond for non-compliance. Possibility to setup via electronic method. Somerset Patriots night: will distribute tickets next week – which have not been received yet from the Patriots. 650 tickets so far, which are 200+ less than last year. All players/coaches should be in the lawn area by 6:30 pm. REC shirts for players and coaches. No baseball pants/cleats required. Cal Ripken Districts Tournament: upcoming for many teams Stepping down as President of MOBSA Vice President of Softball – Paul Segnello Rec season should be wrapped up next week. Championship and Allstar games will be played at Dan Jordan fields. Concessions stand getting a facelift States: 8U & 10U will be hosted by MO in last week of June Regionals Tournament: Mid-July. Big event for MOBSA and MO Township Vice President of Babe Ruth – Mike Mancini Playoffs: under way. Farms & Rookies should check the website as a last resource for any potential field changes. Turkey Brook has been the hub for most games Memorial Day tournament: used 15 fields with many volunteers. Hard work and effort much appreciated and Mount Olive gets a lot of recognition. AllStar games: went well. Hackettstown’s participation much appreciated Championship Night: June 16th before school-end. Umpire envelopes: any unplayed games money should be returned back to Association

We need to ensure that everyone understands that these are younger school kids who are umpiring, and respect what they do.
