Mount Olive Baseball & Softball Association Meeting Minutes: May 3rd 2016 Attendees:
President – Pete DiMaggio Budd Lake field: Nothing new to report. Most likely we still have the field through the end of rec season. Board Member Nominations: xx Longhorn Night: almost $1K from heavy participation. Scoreboard: hoping to have it installed before Memorial Day tournament Mix: discussed w/ Jim Lynch for DJ1/2 & Russ Nagle along with TB fields. Township is doing a terrific job with all of the fields. Township concerns: need to ensure that the equipment boxes are securely closed after games. Golf Outing: May 23rd – online registration is open. 34 golfers signed up so far. Need to sign up ASAP rather than last minute Sat May 7th – 2nd picture session. Makeups are being done this Sat from anyone who may have missed it last Sat. Dick’s Sporting Goods: 15% off this Saturday for MOBSA Memorial Day Tournament: close to 70 teams scheduled Baseball Mania: need Managers to promote this properly to all the parents. Each player will get 3 cards this year. Opt-out players will not get tickets. Info will be posted on the website shortly. We expect to make $17K in revenue this year. Somerset Patriots night: Managers need to reach out to parents ASAP so we can get a head count prior to end of May. Vice President of Softball – Paul Segnello Rec games still on schedule. Games are staying competitive. Coaches shirts are still available. Please contact Paul Vice President of Babe Ruth – Mike Mancini All Star Day may be moved up by 1 week – tbd – 1st weekend in June most likely Try to see if there is a game scheduled behind yours so that equipment does not get put away too early. Secretary – Snehal Desai Managers should ensure that all of their coaches have credentials in place Working on creating a email blast to recognize our 2016 Sponsors after Sal updates them on the website Treasurer – Nate Richardson 3 top fundraisers are upcoming and we need to promote them heavily so that our field improvements may continue
Player Agent – Rich Smith Final registrations: Baseball = 338; Softball = 143 Equipment Director – James Gallagher Not present Head Groundskeeper – Sam Hollien Bases should be painted in the dirt. Fields s/b raked after games. Groomer @ BL needs to be fixed. Publicity Director – Tom Cefola Make sure the recaps are posted on the website Activities Directors – Bill Lockwood / Steve Schmidt Donations are being accepted for Golf Outing. Hole Sponsorships are still available for $150 each.
